Maple T.A.provides interactive math capabilities, including the ability to display complex expressions with math symbols and the ability to understand mathematically equivalent expressions. To accomplish this, the system uses two components:
A math viewer to display math expressions
A math editor to enable you to create your own expressions in response to questions
These two components are loaded as Java applets whenever an assignment requires their use. When you access a question that includes math functionality, you are informed that some necessary Java applets are downloading before the expressions appear. When the download begins, you see the following dialog box, which provides a status report on the files being downloaded:
